To start our Life Science Unit, we've been talking about the macromolecules that make up most of the food we eat: proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Our bodies need nutrients to grow, function and repair itself. We also have been investigating the key organs of the digestive system and how nutrients are broken down and absorbed.

There is a great interactive at this National Geographic site- click on Feed the System and you can follow the path of food through your body.
