Do Now and Output

When class begins students are presented with a "Do Now" question. This will either help us recap content from our previous lesson, or introduce a new topic. Every day students will write down the QUESTION and THEIR ANSWER. "IDK" is not an answer, and they must use FULL sentences.
Every day will end with students producing some type of “Output”. We will go through a variety of options to choose from, but eventually students can choose what type of output works best for them, for example: a detailed drawing, an analogy, a poem or a graphic organizer.
At the end of the week they will hand in their Do Now paper to be graded. It will typically include 3 Do Now questions, 3 Do Now answers and 2-3 Outputs.
When a student is absent, I will have any Do Now questions and Output ideas listed in the front of the room for them to refer to.
