Last summer I completed two courses from Mindfulschools.org, and I now weave mindfulness practice into my lessons with students in the 8th Grade Academy. My favorite saying during our practice is "Be.Here.Now."
During my own weekly practice session with colleagues I was inspired to try a simple, yet effective, hands-on device to help students focus their attention. Last week we gently focused on each breath by extending and compressing a simple toy spring! Ask your student if they noticed a difference in their attention!
