Rat Island Evolution

The SS Jack Russell shipwrecked years ago and the rats that were on-board landed on four different islands. Over time, random mutation and natural selection allowed the rats to evolve into new species adapted to survive on the islands. Eighth graders were not too enthusiastic with our model organism, Rattus norvegicus, but they got creative with this assignment none the less.
