GHS had a school-wide day of community service on Friday, 10/26. Eighth grade teachers were inspired by The Great Kindness Challenge and the Kindness Rising Campaign and decided to focus our day on this theme.

Students rotated through classrooms every 20 minutes and worked on a variety of tasks related to kindness in our class, our school, and our community.

*Watching the TED talk on Kindness by Orly Wahba and discussing

*Writing letters of appreciation to someone important

* Creating and decorating Kindness Jars for teachers

*Coloring in a large mural we hope to assemble and install in the building

*Using spray dye to make class color t-shirts

*Making posters and coloring sheets from The Compliment Project to hang in the building

We ended with a reflections and will be reinforcing this important theme of kindness with students throughout year.
