So many students showed up and made a difference during the Green River Clean-up last weekend! I was proud to be a part of it with them. The weather was beautiful and I think the students had a great time, despite dealing with some unpleasant trash to pick up.

In class we're working on understanding Earth's interior. I had students make some predictions before a demonstration with hot and cold water. Sounds like they had seen this one before, but it's good to get a refresher. Can you tell why one set has hot water (yellow) separate from the cold water (blue) and why one set is mixed (green)??

To build a sense of community within the class of 2022 at GHS, we will be tie dying the shirts purple- the class color for 8th grade. The 8th Grade Academy is asking students to bring in white (or mostly white) t-shirts that can be tie dyed. If any community members have shirts to donate we will gladly accept them as well.

Any other donations of zip top bags, large totes to hold the dye, disposable gloves, or rubber bands will also be gladly accepted.

In an effort to make it easier for students and families to access content from our science classroom, I am starting something I'm calling a Digital Dashboard.

This document will have links to important documents, templates, and websites we will use regularly. Below that information I will have a table containing a brief daily agenda, what reading or fill-ins we used in our workbooks, links to websites/videos, and PDFs of worksheets we used in class. I will also have a column with information on homework and due dates. Currently homework due dates are on a calendar in the Homework Tab, but in the future I may just use this Digital Dashboard.

Let me know what you think! Is this helpful? Am I just creating more work for myself?
