In addition to this website and the Digital Dashboard (under the Homework tab) I'm hoping to also use the Remind App for science and 8th grade relate announcements.

The link for my science class is rmd.at/92f9b

You can also use the text option in the picture.

I hope this will be an easy and quick way to get information home to families.

Here's to a fun, engaging, and productive 2019-20 school year!

As a teacher working with the Source To Sea Clean-up (Saturday 9/28 @ Green River Swimming & Recreation Park), I was contacted by a company called Positive Tracks. This sounds like a program that could offer great support to motivated students who want to make a difference by organizing or participating in athletic events. I think there are several student groups in GHS that could consider looking into this further!

Here is some information about the program and clip to a 90 second video on How It Works:

Positive Tracks is a national non-profit with office hubs in NH and MA.

Our mission is simple: We help youth make change using the power of athletics. We call it “sweating for good”. Youth ages 23 and under apply for free mentorship and resources, and Positive Tracks helps young people organize athletic events designed to champion organizations or causes they care about.

Kids are playing kickball for climate change; swimming for racial justice; shooting hoops for hunger. If youth can dream it, Positive Tracks has their back every step of the way. End result is increased empathy, urgency and agency in our youngest generation, and a better shared future for all generations.

To date, Positive Tracks has helped 65,000 youth partners educate and mobilize community, turning 350,000 miles of athletic activity into advocacy and activism around core issues, and $10,000,000 for causes shaping the world.
