Students will take the Science and Technology/Engineering MCAS test Wednesday May 16th and Thursday 17th. As always we encourage students to get plenty of rest and eat healthy meals leading up to the tests. Food Services also provides student with a snack and a drink each day.
Massachusetts is still in a transition phase between the "old" and "new" standards, so we are basing our review on the list of "overlapping" standards from the 2001/06 and 2016 STE curriculum frameworks. This year all of the MCAS tests are computer based as well.

Getting started with Physical Science and Chemistry. I'm spending some extra time on our vocabulary, especially molecule and compound, because there can be a lot of confusion here.
We'll get into pure substances vs. mixtures, then physical vs. chemical changes before April break.
I've heard that this may be the first time that the 8th Grade has won bleacher wars. I'm very proud of all the students that helped out in big and small ways to get us there. Congratulations!!!
