Students have been learning about the four main types of bridges and the forces acting on them. Student work on bridges and our building LEED research will be on display during the Open House on April 28th!


The Greenfield Education Foundation was gracious enough to provide funding for the 8th Grade Academy to purchase eight LEGO EV3 Robotics kits. During our PLUS class I've tried to let students explore building and programming these kits- a great tool to explore the engineering design process!

That's an quote from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Imagine being surrounded by water at sea and not being able to drink any of it (side note: Thor Heyerdahl tested this theory during his voyage on the Kon Tiki).

We've been talking about H2O so much in our chemistry unit, I wanted to take a little time to focus on water as a resource. Students read information about countries facing a water crisis in one form or another. We also discussed the issues Flint, Michigan is currently facing with their lead-contaminated water.
